Story Round-Up: Features in The Herald-News, March 24 through March 29

Quick updates!

If all goes well this weekend, the third installment of Before the Blood should be available early next week.

I still have BryonySeries soy candles for sale. I'll have books and candles with me at WriteOn Joliet's next open mic night. This will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 4 at the Book and Bean Cafe, 3395 Black Road in Joliet. Everyone is welcome to come out, drink great coffee, read their works, or simply sip and listen.

WriteOn Joliet will also host a display of collaborative works at the downtown breanch of the Joliet Public Library during the month of May. The event will culminate with a "meet and greet" from 6 to 8:30 p.m. May 30. During this time, the community will have a chance to meet local authors, purchase their individual works, and/or WriteOn Joliet anthologies. WriteOn Joliet will also release a special anthology on that date, a collection of creative works based on one silly prompt: "What if a  baby cheetah showed up on your porch and asked for a sandwich?"

A new Bertrand the Mouse book is available HERE.

That's all for now. Have a great Friday readers, writers, and vampire fans! :)

Non-bylined features:

Monday through Saturday I assembled my non-bylined works - brief posts and calendar listings - into one convenient file and posting them on Facebook in the evening, so readers can easily choose the ones they want to read.

One can also find those event listings, the Gotta Do It calendar, as well as the pets, health, faith, and arts and entertainment calendars, under the sections tab on the left hand side of http://www.theherald-news.com/. Click on "features" and the topics drop down.  Gotta Do It runs under "people."

Community news? Again, under the sections tab, under features, and by topic. Updates are posted on these days in print and web (and some only on web on other days as I have the time): Monday (pets), Tuesday (health), Thursday (faith), Friday (arts and entertainment), and Sunday (people).

 Social media:

Carol Palmer of Jackson Township was a brilliant underwriter and supportive friend to all

I could throw any idea by her and she'd be very rational about it. She never told me, 'That's wrong.' She'd give me very open reasons why this is a not a good idea, but there was never a time when she said, 'No, don't do that.'"
