Today is our very last stop on the Inaugural BryonySeries Blog Tour, an incredible two-month journey where, in May, eight bloggers opened their virtual doors to me and allowed me the privilege of being a guest in their very welcoming virtual homes.
And then in June, I reciprocated the favor and opened my doors to them. I will eventually archive the entire tour on my website (so you can catch up, reread favorite posts, or even buy a few souvenirs for yourself, friends, and family).
I will also give share my thoughts for anyone wishing to host their own tours and would like some ideas for structure.
But for today, the spotlight is on Allison Rios and three of her posts I really like.
According to her Amazon author page, Allison Rios was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois. Writing has been her relaxation and hobby since childhood, when she began taking notes on neighborhood happenings (the big stuff, like someone mowing a lawn or washing a car) and putting together hand-written newspapers.
She grew into a career in public relations, marketing and web but never lost the love for writing fiction. In between a full-time job, chauffeuring kids and shopping for high heels, she spends her free time typing out daydreams and creating new worlds with her imagination – a hobby she likes to share with her children.
Allison has written and self-published a fictional series about a healer who can cure any illness with a single touch and a book of first person non-fictional accounts from her and other contributors about loved ones' brain tumor experiences. Proceeds from the book were donated to the American Brain Association.
She will soon release two novels: "Fifteen Years" and "Too Much Love."
One Sad Little Girl
A poignant piece on grief, a little girl's grieving for a grandpa who's passed.

A Letter to My Pre-Teen Son
I love the push-pill of emotion here. A mother recognizes her son will soon be a man, and yet she lets him know some things between them will never change.

Working on the Decade List: 40 Things to do Before I'm 40
I liked this post because, in spite of Allison's blog title (I'm More Than Just a Mom), many, if not most, of her posts revolve around her family, especially her children. This one gives us a glimpse into Allison the person. And I like the fact she sees herself as "more than just a mom," too, but a woman with likes and goals and dreams and wishes.
