Benefits of Creativity: A Very Short Post

I had some time unexpectedly open up for me this past weekend, and I used to to work on Before the Blood and the second Cornell Dyer book.

It confirmed for me what I knew all along: Creative people need time to be creative.

I'm very cognizant of duty and responsibilities. I tend to subscribe to a "work before play" mentality.

But slipping into a "no play" until each and every piece of work is one hundred percent done often leaves zero time for play.

Creative play relaxes and sharpens my mind and improves productivity everywhere else.

Goal: get better at treating this as a need rather than a want.

If you're an artist, too, you'll understand.
