This week's recipe is for Best Griddle Cakes, which is adapted from Miss Beecher’s domestic receiptbook: designed as a supplement to her Treatise on domestic economy.
These are, indeed, some delicious griddle cakes. But are they really "the best?" Try them and see.
The cookbook is available on Amazon and is a permanent fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties.
This recipe is also referenced in the Bryony, the first book in the young adult "drop of blood" vampire trilogy.
