BryonySeries: Beulah County

In the early days of this blog, I wrote about various elements of the BryonySeries: defining them, sharing the inspiration behind them, etc., since the series is the primary driver of the blog.

Over time, I wrote less about these elements, so now I'm correcting that with weekly (overall) posts on these elements. You can find past blogs under the tag "About the BryonySeries."

This week's post is short: a definition of Beulah County and an even shorter on why Beulah County is significant.

Enjoy! :)

Beulah County: A fictional county in Northern Michigan, that encompasses Thornton (city), Shelby (tourist village), Jenson (college town), and Munsonville (fishing village). Mentioned in “House on Top of the Hill.”

That's according to the BryonySeries guidebook "Welcome to Munsonville: The People, Places and Things of the BryonySeries."

But Beulah County by name also appears in the BryonySeries Ruthless trilogy by Ed Calkins, Steward of Tara: "Ruthless," "The Fifth," and "Recovering Ruthless."

Here is the encyclopedia-style entry on Munsonville.

But what really makes Beulah County interesting are the seven mysteries surrounding it.

We'll explore those next Tuesday.
