In "Recovering Ruthless," by Ed Calkins, Steward of Tara, a character's character is being tested and developed, and she is given a phrase to often repeat: "It is a privilege to serve."
I remember when one of the initial organizer's of Joliet's first M:LK Day of Service reached out to me more than a dozen years ago about the event, a first for the area.
Although I'd written many stories through the years about Joliet's MLK Day of Service, I've never been blessed enough to see part of it.
Well, today is the day. And "it's a privilege to serve" keep echoing through my head this morning.
That's a good place to end today's blog, I think, isn't it?
"It's a privilege to serve."
