"Who Shall be May Queen?" by Phila Butler Bowman

One of my favorite books when I was a child was an older reader of my father's that sat on our bookshelf at home.

It was called "Elson Gray Basic Readers Book Four: and this post elaborates on the book, its contents and why I, and later my children (who all have copies, thanks to Amazon), loved the book so much.

One section had a lovely little story with the lovely little illustration below.

The story was called "Who Shall be May Queen?" by Phila Butler Bowman

You may read the story on page 368 of a PDF verson of the book on the Internet Archive. Be patient. It loads slowly because of all the graphics.

Happy May Day - and a day - from the BryonySeries.
