January Calendar

Like many author websites, the BryonySeries website has an event calendar.

But our calendar is not like regular event calendars.

When Timothy started redesigning the website (a very fluid process he began several years ago), he created a calendar that had the fun and mystery of the old advent-style calendars.

These advent calendars have little doors. Behind the doors are pictures or sayings or even chocolate.

Timothy's vision was certainly to include events on the event dates.

But on the other dates, he wanted to add games, crafts, music, activities, science experiments, recipes and bits of inspiration that pick up themes to one or more of our books.

We coordinate the calendar (as much as possible,) to "book themes of the day." More on that tomorrow.

I finally finished January's calendar over the weekend, and I encourage you to check it out.

Yes, I know I'm behind. January is nearly over, right? I'm blaming holidays and another hospitalization on my tardiness.

And you may wonder: What is the point of looking at it now?

Actually, now is the best time.

The end of January is a weary time for many people.

They're already tired of winter (although winter's barely begun) and the shine of new year's resolutions are tarnished and dull.

So every suggestion behind each door of the BryonySeries calendar provides a simple thought of activity accompanied by a fresh perspective.

Who knows? It might be just the thing you need to read and do today.

Check it out now. Hover over a door to open it, and have fun exploring the surprises behind each of the dates.

The new calendar will (hopefully) be posted next weekend.

If, you know, I don't run into anymore emergencies, ugh.

Happy Monday!
