Our Cats Went "Batty" Last Night

So this advertisement appeared in our BryonySeries email (bryonyseries@gmail.com) a few days ago.

After Rebekah and I had a little giggle over the pet cat bat wings, she ordered them.

I didn't know until they arrived yesterday.

So last night, after a family movie and pizza, we tried the bat wings on our cats.

The cats weren't thrilled.

They kept hanging their heads and refused to look at the camera - no matter how much we coaxed them.

We snapped their photos anyway.

BryonySeries and Panic at the Plaza

So the first Panic at the Plaza in October 2019 was rained out.

Then the pandemic paused the event.

And then I had to work on "Panic" weekend last year.,

But THIS year...

This year all is well (so far), and we are looking forward to pitching our BryonySeries tent and filling it with books (for sale) and decor (not for sale).

Actually, to be more precise, the tent is Timothy's, and I'll just be in the way if I help to set it up.  And Rebekah will oversee decorating and sales. I'll just be in costume, hanging out.

Panic at the Plaza will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at he Van Buren Street Plaza in downtown Joliet.

So put on your spookiest costume (or not) and be sure to stop at the BryonySeries tent, where we will have your Halloween reads all lined up, along with a few fun etcs.

Halloween 2022: Uncle Barty and Bertrand's Celebration

In case you're wondering if Bertrand the Mouse and his Uncle Barty enjoyed their second Halloween together yesterday, the answer is, of course, a big yes.

The crocheted uncle and nephew duo visited a garage pumpkin patch, hung out with their friends, and went trick or treating.

So naturally they wanted to share a few photos of their fun - and their costumes for 2022.

Uncle Barty went as a wrapped holiday gift. 

Bertrand is a bit harder to see because he's wearing a ghost costume. See if you can spot him in each photo.

Never Too Old...

...for the fun of dressing up in a Halloween costume and walking the chilly streets at twilight to the refrains of "Trick or treat!"

As a kid, I always wanted to dress up as a witch, but my mother picked more "fun costumes:" cowgirl, drum majorette, wash woman, etc.

So now, I have a purple and black witch hat and cloak. And I wear it every year to take the grandkids trick or treating.

Can't wait for tonight!

(And neither can Bertrand, whom I holding in his vampire costume from last year. This year, he is going as Superman, his pick, not mine).
