Leftover Codfish...It's What for Breakfast

Not the usual stuff Sunday buffets, but a choice item on Bryony's breakfast tray, especially when living near Lake Munson, where fishing was the village's main industry.

Melissa didn't see it that way, though.

Codfish

Boiled potatoes, mashed

Codfish, cooked and mashed

Cream or milk

Lard

Pepper

Mix potatoes and fish together, adding some cream or milk, and a little pepper, make them into round cakes an inch thick, and fry them in fresh lard.
