In 1826, Anglican bishop Reginald Heber (1783-1826)wrote "Holy, Holy, Holy," for Trinity Sunday. After Heber's sudden death, John B. Dykes (1823-1876)composed and arranged the hymn as we know it today.
More than likely, John Simons performed a similar version at Munsonville Congregational Church.
